Do they work? I personally hate them, and would never click on one, but has anyone had success with them?
I used them on one of my eBook sites offering a $5 discount... increased conversion pretty well (two sales a day to five sales a day). Of course, dunno if the conversion would have increased if I removed the peel away ad and just offered the discount
I actually don't mind the ads. They're way better than pop-ups and interstitials (from a "please don't annoy me" standpoint.)
I agree with MT, they are way better than popups and they sit in the corner of the screen still allowing you to view the content you came to view.
I find them very distracting because I always find myself wanting to "make the peel". But I don't click, I just peel and let go and peel and let go. I guess I'm too easily amused
Just like any other ad, on some sites they do, on some sites they don't. Try one and find out. Why do you hate them?
I have clicked them a few times. Definatly better then popups! If a website has popups I click out of it because they are really really annoying.
Same here. I detest those little fuckers. Oops, did I say that? The peel-away ads are more interesting, curious, which will increase views.
