The only people you will attract by promoting your forum as ad revenue sharing will be webmasters.
And they will most likely entice visitors away from your forum by only posting snippets of information and leave a link back to their site that has the rest of the information.

You should promote it as a place where people who want to lose weight can get together and share their experiences, what diet works and what doesn't.
A place where people can go to get encouragement from each other.

Enabling ad revenue sharing on a weight loss forum is just asking for trouble.

Yeah save that revenue sharing money for advertising on relevant sites.
I recommend to get banner ads on relevant high traffic site. In start you need to make some good informative posts yourself or from someone.
Hire forum posters. Hire 30 different member with atleast 300 relevant posts/threads or even more. I don't really have good idea about promoting forum. Getting traffic to forum is hard
