    I think the best is just use this website - http://zamzar.com/
    They say that for free conversation you should wait up to 24 hours but I usually get my files within 5 minutes.

    Paying users should get it immediately(never tried it).
    Just remember not to send your top secret files...

    Try abby fine Reader. Till the day it is the finest OCR Software. But it is not free. you can get a thirty day trial offer though.

    yes zamzar is best but you can convert only 1 mb file...
