Macs are my preference, but a Windows operating system could also suit you well.

Have just bought Dell XPS 8100. Intel i7 860 CPU, 6GB RAM, 1GB Graphics and 24" Dell Monitor U2410. With Win 7 64-bit OS.

    Can't wait to get it...

As a Mac user aswell as PC enthusiast I can tell you there Adobe Applications like Photoshop, Illustrator actually perform much better on the Windows Platform.. I have a 21.5" iMac, and the performance of Photoshop isn't fluid like it is on the Windows platform.. tested it with CS4 aswell as CS5.. But there are benefits to using Mac's.. less clutter, the Mac OS is def faster then Windows 7.. but It depends on you I guess.. If your easily annoyed by lag when moving around a PSD document I would get a PC.. if you don't mind the slight lag in Photoshop then go for a Mac :p

I think you will be OK with a Mac as the Mac will open windows documents but not the other way around. You should be able to get the Mac versions of your software, it may even be on your CD as they send out both versions when you buy the program.

Also you will really impress you customers when you turn up with Mac.

MAC is suitable for editing, but if for gaming and performance, pc is still better!

Macs and PCs excel at different stuff. I have a Mac laptop because it gets awesome battery life, and a PC desktop because it's good at gaming.

Mac's better than PC, no doubt about it. Less crashes, faster and more beautiful then any PC out there.

Macs are great, but not for the price. I'm pretty much a PC guy. People are forgetting PC's are not only windows.

MacBook Pro's are very good, as well as iMac's. I would easily recommend any of those, Apple makes high quality products, but they are a lot more expensive.
