It might be because of your power supply unit. Usually if the PSU wont have enough power to run your PC, the PC can freeze, restart, etc...

Another thing that you can check for is overheating which can happen when playing graphics intensive games.

Well, photoshop wont stress your pc as much as games would. The thing is, if other games you play are graphic intensive as well and your pc is not restarting while playing those, then there is a problem with nfs and not your pc.

The easiest way would be to open START, right click Computer (or right click it from the desktop if it's not in START), select Manage and check the Event Viewer for errors. It will probably show a red event where your pc restarts and from there, you can find out what's causing the problem.

Does it do the same when playing other games? The PC still being on with no display indicates a video card issue or it could be software related (drivers/games/etc...). If the PC restarts itself, in other words as if you'd hit the power off button then back on right away, usually this indicates a RAM issue, faulty RAM can make PC's reboot themselves once certain information gets messed up in the RAM.

To me it sounds more and more like an overheating problem, but the blank screen and your pc running may indicate to a PSU problem. It's really hard to tell...

If it's just NFS, I'd say it's software related, but it all depends how NFS specifically uses your hardware, so it could still be a hardware problem. When the system freezes now are you able to exit out of the came, even if it's through CTRL+ALT+DEL and ending the program in the task manager, and continue using the computer, or do you have to restart it to use the computer again?

Like you said when starting the thread, have you checked the drivers? It's not said whether you have a video card or not, is it built into the motherboard or a separate video card?

Its because of RAM and the power supply.

What is the average temperature of your video card chip and for how much does it fire up when you launch and try to play this game for about 5-10 minutes ?
