As the subject says, I have recently launched a PC hardware, software, gadget, and tech news resource. I plan to put a lot of work into the site, keep it updated, and do a good job with it. This is my first foray into an information site of this nature, though. The goal is really to attract readers that come back because I am doing a good job delivering the very best in related releases and news, of course. However, what have you all found to be the best methods for marketing this type of site to get these potential repeat visitors. I am fairly well-versed in the basics, but feel free to suggest anything, even if it's probably something I already know, just to be sure I am not forgetting something obvious. Thanks.
It's good stuff and the layout is generally nice but the header looks so plain. I think a completely custom header banner would spice the site up a little bit. Also: the links above the header Home and etc. if possible to modify the theme, I would move them down below the header so they blend in with the navigational bar. The site looks good.
compliments on the site and domain and tagline. if you keep the site updating, surfers will find it. trading links, buying keyword-based traffic, and having a site map etc.. will all help.
Thanks to both of you for the feedback so far. I look forward to hearing any feedback from others also.
immaculate site - impressive. I like the header - it's plain and gels with the overall site theme. well.. found something. just below the header, the video audio etc links in the image links to the same ?? why not remove the link then ..
Thanks much for the feedback. I'm afraid I do not understand what you mean. Care to explain a bit further?
I think I see what you mean now. That's not an imagemap. It's an image of the interface of the DViCo TViX M-6500A Network Media Player product the listing there is for...
I would deinfinatly have an RSS feed setup, and see if you can get your "widget" setup in the google.com/ig program. I have no idea how one goes about this, but people can get a lot of traffic from this. Cheers
It does have an RSS feed. I will have to look into the google.com/ig though. Thanks for the suggestion.
Best of Luck with the blog Chris, it looks well and I am sure with your skill it will be a surefire winner! (Is that why the banner ads are 150$ a month??lol)
Well, the prices there are just placeholder for when the site becomes established. Of course, I don't expect anyone to pay that now.
I checked it first too Nice blog, keep writing quality content.. why it is necessary to register for commenting ! better turn it off if you want lots of comments. hmm, Design is not of the top mark..
Good luck with the new project Chris. Long time no see on these forums I guess with a news site you want to try and make sure you are one of the first to release the news, which should help with getting links.
