*gives slap via the internet for supporting dell* :p

In my experience they are rubbish. They brake so you try to change the parts but nothing was compatable. And their technical support is rubbish.

Tech support is something to be desired.
Otherwise you can't blame Dell for my screen getting busted, a 100+ pound Bullmastiff jumping on it will do that ;)

I've owned multiple dells and have been happy with them, much happier than my previous notebooks, IBM, Gateway, Toshiba among others.

Congrats dude. You have a lot of bargaining power to have that burned out laptop replaced. How many of us are persistent in our complaint and getting the defects rectified? :)

Hmm, a 100+ pound dog jumped on it and broke it. Did you try deleting the cookies and cache and restarting?

The monitor/screen was physically damaged, so was the hinge, no 'deleting cookies and cache or restarting' is going to fix that :p

That's awesome! I had to do pretty much the same thing with HP a few months ago. They kept telling me that I never paid for a warranty when I did. Sure, I had to tear my house apart to find it, lol, but I got a new pc. :D

Yeah it does help to complain, whether or not you get something back from it like your note book , but thats always a bonus if more people complained the service of many places would have better services.

Whenever I have problems, I always go up the chain until someone with bigger things to worry about can authorize what I want.

Eventually you will come across someone who has the authority...and here's the kicker....they usually enjoy giving the authority for what you ask, because it reminds them that they are in charge or higher up on the totem pole.

If they don't give you what you ask, you can always write a letter to the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org). Use words like "raped" and "violated" in your complaint letter. (eg. I feel that this company has raped me. I feel that they are such a large corporation that they can do whatever they want and get away with it).

Those two keywords have always gotten the companies to respond. No company, no matter how big, wants a complain letter on file with these adjectives in them.

    Lucky Bum....
I hate my dell laptop. I bought it just as soon as the price dropped dramatically. If I would have waited a month then I would of save myself a couple hundred bucks.

    DELL freaking sucks.

I 've just bought a camera after i found a deal on some deal site. I've got an order confirmation. When i try to check my order statues on their site, it said order not found. I called in and that lady said there was a price mistake and all order is canceled. but yet they are still holding my money in my credit card!!

This is not the first time they cancel my order because they screw up!!!

It's normal for businesses to cancel orders if something f's up the price.

It also takes several days minimum for the authorization to come off your card, if they ever actually take the money you can easily dispute it ;)

for dell, it is up to if you are lucky or not with their price mistake .i once got 3 dual core computer with dual 22" monitor for $500 each. Sold everything on craiglist in one week and got around $1300 profit
