How many people have tried advertising via www.payperpost.com, www.reviewme.com , www.blogsvertise.com etc?

Was it worthwhile in terms of traffic and links? Any real success stories? How much have you spent?

I just spent $1k on this so hopefully will see some level of return. Will post back with the results.

I used PayPer Post with good results.

Bought 66 posts over 4 topics and saw SERP changed almost overnight. It was mostly on phrases I ranked around 20-100 for already. I got some of them to first page, one from 11th to #1. But since then it has slid back a bit again making it look to me like Google treats blogs as newsworthiness indicators rather than long term 'votes'. Maybe when the posts get some PR it will settle in properly.

PPP has another stupid system where you *have* to specify the anchor text you want for every blog post. I ordered 25 and had to either set the text for each one individually or choose the same text for each post.

Why can't I just let the blogger link with the text they want to link with?

Also I was order number RM00000258 with reviewme. Was expecting them to have had more orders than that.

Because you want to optimize your site with 'Term A' and the blogger links your site with 'Damn Dude' and really does not help you with your SEO efforts.

To be honest I would far rather the blogger writes a post in the style they want and links to me using the anchor text they want. Blog posts are supposed to be natural. No bloggers link with perfect anchor text and search engines know that.

mad4: I believe PPP allows you to specify anchor text of [blogger choice] (or something similar) and mention in your opp description that the blogger gets to choose how they want to link. You also can make linking optional -- giving the blogger full flexibility over link and/or anchor text decisions.

I'd note that if you want the same anchor text for 25 links, don't enter it 25 times. Just specify 25 in the "Number of posts" field for that link. That should make it much easier for ya ;)

    Thats what I did. :)

Time to test reviewme's customer service. Two of the reviews I paid $60 each for are exactly the same word for word.............

Not yet. They emailed me the other day. Would be cool to see what they can come up with.

Edit: Just paid them $100. Lets see what they can do. I don't like paying up front without any indication of who is going to be blogging about me.

A system where an expert hand picks blogs for me is pretty good IMO. Reviewme allow you to email them for advice on this but with their keyword search its pretty easy really.

How do I upgrade my membership?

It's for English sites I believe, not restricted to the US though. I used it as an advertiser and I'm in the UK.

    Hi there,

Please contact me privately and I will email you a link to upgrade your membership for free to see and order specific blogs. It really wouldn't be appropriate for me to put the link on this forum. Thanks! You can email at cheryl@blogsvertise.com

Looks like PPP just updated their system and we can finally browse the marketplace as advertisers. They also hired some ex-MySpace guy. I always love these Yankee-Doodle titles: Vice President of Sales
