17 days is amazing alright, just not in a positive way:rolleyes:

Freewebspace, don't count on 17 days next time, it might well be a month. Check out alternative methods to withdraw paypal funds like remit2india, gCard & xoom.

In the Netherlands I get my money in a bank-account in four or five days (from paypal).
I was thinking of complaining about Amazon - they don't send money to foreign bank accounts yet - but for people in developed countries I guess checks are the only way to go... Life's just not fair.

Paypal pay horrible exchange rate, they pay almost 10% less when they convert euro to dollar or dollar to rupee
But is there any better way? How about this

people staying in same city can exchange paypal dollars and get paid via bank transfer in their country

10%? :D You must be kidding... Yes it is significantly lower than what you see in the newspapers but that rate isn't applicable exactly for non-trading transactions.

One question here. Does paypal cheque arrive through Indian Postal Service or any other mail service? Like if I want to check if my cheque has arrived or not, do I have to check in the post office or somewhere else...

    Thanks.

Receiving cheque in 21 days - it depends on postal service in your area.

15 days processing time  - I think if there is any citi bank branch in your city then it takes hardly 1-2 days (same as other cheques).
