Paypal's premier account

I was accepting a debit payment, and accidentally clicked "Upgrade to Premium account!". I would prefer to not have a premium account, as it charges you extra fees and I won't be accepting any debit payments in general.

I can't make another account for personal use because I only have one CC, and you need a separate CC for that right?

Can I downgrade to personal status somehow? If not, I'll just suck it up.

Yes you can, go to your Profile, you should have a Downgrade to Personal account setting.

If not, just shoot their support a ticket to correct the issue.

You can downgrade only once, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, you're allowed to have one premier/business and one personal account with the same info.

    Good luck.

You can downgrade to personal account BUT thats only for once . If you happen to upgrade again then you cant downgrade again .

btw .. a person is allowed to have a personal account and also a premier account .

just a caution :: you can downgrade only once and paypal allows a person to have one personal and one premier account so personally , I dont feel downgrading will be a good option .

I would still keep a personal account for smaller transactions where regular Paypal commissions are taking most of dough away.
Using the premier or business account once the $500 limit on the personal one is reached, that's how you can handle it.

I read that the $500 limit for the personal account does not apply to Email Send method but just the Buy Now and Invoicing services, typically the merchant services. Because I have been receiving commission payment from Plimus.com to my paypal personal account and they are usually in excess of the $500 limit per transaction and always got my money.

I didn't know you could have two accounts under the same name. I might have to open a premier account because I'm always over that $500/month limit and that would be a nice second option.

Can you use the same banking information? Like, having your money sent to your same savings as the other account?

Nope. You'll have to use separate credit cards, separate bank accounts. That's where creating "too many" paypal accounts under the same name might become problematic :)

If it is Email Send then you just get the money. No blocks or anything. At least that is my experience. I do receive more than $500 in one email send from Plimus month after month and I am able to use the money and withdraw to my bank account.

Yes, my business account has one credit card but my personal account remained unverified and limited until I added a second credit card ;)
