Lets say I'm selling a membership to a website.

I open up a .com and the site and start selling memberships.

I have no business license or anything, just my website.

I'm making $1000 a month from my memberships.

Is it legal for me to collect the money every month from my membership sales on paypal with just my website and no official business liceneses.

    And what about taxes.

(I know other people do it with no licenses and things...just wondering)

Someone who has the answers please explain.

Yes it's legal. You don't have to have a business license. But there are some things that you need a business license for, bit in general, no, you don't need one.

You don't need a business license, you do need to pay taxes for any earnings over $600.

Just expanding on what you said.

You have to pay taxes if you generate $600 or more a year.
