Paypal is getting on my nerves. I mean I have withdrawn more than 1,000 EURO using their service and now they ask me for a copy of my government id and a copy of a utility bill. How can I trust them to give them these? In my country ( Romania ) only the POLICE, MEDICAL ASSISTANCE or the SCHOOL asks me for the government id, no other institute.
You can scan your drivers license too or anything at prove that its YOU! 1,000 EURO is a lot of money and they want it to be secure to withrawn easily by you. Or you can give them a call for a fast assistance..
I will call them, I do not trust because what if a hacker will steal all of the data from paypal ? There were cases of identity steal in the world and so on.
Paypal can be very irritating, however ofcourse they will ask for this! There are many international anti fraud protection rules, and paypal needs to listen to them.
When I started with paypal, about 5 years ago, they asked me for the same documents cause I failed writing the 4 digits added to my credit card statement. I haven't any other issued with them after that. I guess it is a good thing that they ask for that kind of clarity when you are trying to prove your id. I guess every case is different. I am very jealous though, about sharing my information asked by email. I only trust in messages read at my account's in box.
You can trust them, you have already trusted them for 1000 Euros. Well, you can scan your documents and send them. No need to send any hard copy to them. Yes, calling would definitely help you to move the process faster. You have already trusted them by sharing your credit card details. Now there should not be a trust issue here. About why they need those documents - it's anti fraud compliance they have to comply with. It is surely for betterment of the security of your money.
Someone else reported this in another thread. Never had it happen to me even though on our business Adsense account, we do about that a month. Had it for quite some time though so it may be grandfathered in.
just scan it to them and they won't bother u again. Paypal are annoying like that, u are not the first and not the last who have to do this
