I have seen this many times. I tried to attach Corp Bank Debit card long back. If I remember correctly, it didn't work correctly, but bank statement shows 1 INR as POS (Point Of Sale) Paypal etc. Of course this is not the same as Paypa depositing small amount. Recently, as per another member's post regarding Paypal accepting Corp Bank Debit card, I tried it again, card got added in PP and again, the INR 1 is shown in statement. I think it is something with the bank, I mean when we attach the card or trying, bank might be considering it as a POS and may be charging 1 INR. Yes, I know it is strange, and I am not 100% sure why it is so. Anyway it is not a 'Paypal Withdrawal' from bank account or debit card. And nothing to worry about it too, I mean Paypal will not withdraw money directly from debit card or bank account without our/bank's authorization.
mine too was debited 1rs . but neither i did paypal transactions or added my debit card to the paypal account. only thing i did was xoom transfer abd after this 1rs was debited.. Strange !
Dear friends Actually this Rs 1 debit is only for the debit card verification process by PP that ur debit card is working or not......no need to enter EXPUSE CODE IN THIS CASE. But if ur pp is not verified and u do so then PP will deduct $ 1.95 from ur card and ask u to enter expuse code. The same ($ 1.95 debit and expuse code demand) also happens if u already verified pp by indian bank a/c and then try to add any indian debit card (i.e 1 st debit card for ur pp). But after verifying 1st indian debit card ....from 2nd indian debit card ONWARDS u add in ur .... pp they will just deduct Rs. 1 not $ 1.95....AND NO EXPUSE CODE DEMANDED FROM 2ND CARD ONWARDS. These all are well tested....u can trust. One more thing..... still some indian debit cards are being accepted at PP for funding/verification......E.G PNB MASTER DEBIT CARD and IOB and CORP. BANK debit card . Not sure for corp and IOB DEBIT CARD but done with PNB MASTER DEBIT CARD RECENTLY..... This is so b/c some banks still not following RBI STRICT GUIDELINE (ON VBV/MCSC) so far..... SBI VISA YUVA CARD WILL NOT WORK...B/C SBI FOLLOWING IT STRICTLY. Regards
