    hello,

I have added my IOB account in paypal for bank verification. But still no small deposits. Today i printed my passbook. On 17 feb 2010 paypal withdrew 1 rupee from my bank account. I am confused why this happened? Just now i sent the mail to paypal about this issue. anybody face this problem?

man its strange. Howcome paypal can withdraw money on by just getting IFSC code and account number. This is really strange and illegal if the same has happened in reality. You should complaint your bank regarding this unauthorised withdrawal.

Verifying process is done by deposits and not by withdrawls.

No one can withdraw money from your bank account without your approval.

Even if bank authorities deposit someone's money in your account by mistake, they will be not allowed to withdraw the same without your permission.

I guess, you should immediately notify the bank by email as well as hard copy mentioning clearly the date, amount etc. of the transaction and also get a photocopy of the letter/notice marked 'received' by the bank with proper seal of the bank and signature of the appropriate authority.

I think you have try to attach your debit card with paypal for verification so in that process paypal deducts 1 INR from your account.Same thing happened to me when i attach my debit card with them.

    OMG !

please check properly if it is CR or DB......

if its CR - Credited then they must hav credited on your account for any reason.

if its DB - Debited then you must file a complaint in bank and local police station.

This needs to be dealt seriously

No one can withdraw your money from your bank a/c. Even the concerned bank itself can't withdraw money from your a/c without your permission except few conditional deduction and service charges like annual maintenance etc.

may be it could be a debit verification done by pp for small amount. Wen you sign up debit card Paypal authorizes a small charge Re1 to your debitcard. Since debit card is directly tied to your bank account, you will see the charge on your passbook. ofcourse the same Re.1 is credited back to your paypal account.

Just like how you signup credit card with paypal. Very recently i signed up a credit card to pp, paypal took Rs 90 ($1.95) from my credit card, then the same $1.95 was credited back to my pp account.
