PAYPAL: Will my Premier A/c Clash with my Company's business A/c?

    Hi,

I have a long standing Premier PayPal Account in my personal name. Now, I need to set up a business account for my company.

My fear is that, since I will use the same computers to access both accounts, what if PayPal deems this activity as suspicious (one entity with multiple accounts!)?

    Any advice?

    Thanks :)

    From the PayPal site...

2.2 Personal, Premier and Business Accounts. We offer three different types of Accounts: Personal, Premier and Business Accounts. You may only hold one Personal Account and either one Premier or one Business Account. By opening a Premier or Business Account and accepting the terms as outlined in this Agreement, you attest that you are not establishing the Account primarily for personal, family, or household purposes.

It seems to be that you can have a personal account and a Premier or Business account. I'm not sure about a Premier and a Business account. I would contact PayPal directly to avoid any trouble.

My suggestions would be you downgrade your premier to a personal and then open a business account. Or you can downgrade to a personal account, and then upgrade it to a business.

Otherwise, Paypal might think that it is suspicious and limit your accounts which not a problem if the accounts are yours and legit - but it sucks and it's such a hassle, so if you're lazy like me, best to avoid it. Kind regards

Write to Paypal when in doubt.

Downgrade your premier account and open a new business account.

I know that emailing paypal does not give you the fastest answer but it would be the most accurate answer thus I believe it is worth the wait.

We are customers ourselves and we can just speculate but don't count on any of our answers as being remotely accurate because if Paypal finds something wrong, you cannot turn back and say so-and-so at DP said this and thus it must be fact.

I understand your point and fully agree!

But, getting a reply from this so frustrating and time consuming. You may end up waiting for 02 weeks or a month to hear their auto responder email.

Thanks for all the responses. I mailed them about 10 days ago and did not any response (not even an autoresponder). Hence the query on DP. I do not think that the limit of 1 personal plus 1 business SHOULD hold i my case. For instance, if I had a 100 companies, all incorporated and hence different legal entities, then I would have no choice but to have 100 accounts. But if I were to access those accounts from the same computer, PayPal might go insane :) I think it is time to give them a call :) Hopefully that works :)
