Someone said that the local govt has to approve paypal in order for them to operate in a particular country, is it true..? Then how come MB and 2co have their services globally and they didnt get any approval from any local govt..?

From what I understand, Paypal works in a different framework as 2Checkout and Moneybookers.

Paypal is more or less considered a financial institution pretty much like a bank and as such need to negotiate with the local authorities in order to offer their services in those place. Paypal seems to try to make their local presence felt by setting up shop locally as and where they feel is necessary to cater to the local needs.

You can see some of the local licenses it obtained from the various US state to do what they do https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/ir/licenses-outside . I am sure they do the same for the other countries.

They to do not deal with countries which I believe is deemed to be high risk because in the end, they be responsible for any frauds to their customers and their shareholders. They are taking a very prudent approach by slowly adding countries after their due diligence.

From what I understand, Moneybookers work on a different framework. They are just operating out of the UK. They only allow a few countries to upload and download funds to their bank accounts as for the rest of them, it is through payment through a credit card.

2Checkout.com is just a one-way 3rd party credit card processors. They only collect money and remit them to you via wire transfers or check after taking out their commissions. They are pretty much just an agent for your business.

i was using both but paypal has just limited my account due to suspicous activity in the 17th march. (funny the last transaction was the 16th) limited for no reason other than to make me add my verification details.

money bookers is brilliant and so easy to use. only problem being again as already has been said, if i drop ship an item most wholesalers and dropship companies accept paypal but not moneybookers. which is a pain.

Paypal is worst payment service that I've ever seen , they are blocking accounts without reasons , fees are very high , you need to submit Credit card details , you can't use your money for gambling purposes ( I'm gambler :) ) , buyers can claim Chargeback and paypal will froze all funds in it , my friends acc was frozed for six month because buyer placed chargeback for 15$ payed for digital product and paypal frozed 1200$ lol isn't it funny ?

Compared to Moneybookers Paypal really Sucks
The only problem with moneybookers is that it's not as famuos as paypal is , but I beleive it'll become more popular

Paypal is just more prudent in their business than others. I do not hink they block accounts for no reasons, there would be some irregularity for that to happen. You submit your credit card details to verify the account. You need to do so to prove to them that you are who you say you are and that you are credit worthy. What makes it bad is the ability for people to cheat the system by using VCC.

My account have not gotten frozen by paypal. They do not freeze your account when you get a chargeback. You are given the option to proof that you are not doing anything illegal. If you keep silent, it means that you agree you did something wrong.

Paypal rates compared to other credit card processors, they are pretty low.

Paypal is basically created to support online auction such as eBay where physical items are being purchased and shipped. That is where the strength of Paypal is.

For virtual product, there is no way to prove that something is delivered so it is difficult to side. In the end, typically for online transaction where no signature is provided, the customer is almost always right. That's how online transactions works anyways.

Paypal to Moneybookers or vice versa service is not provided directly. You need to find someone who can do that.

Since paypal does not cover my country, I looked for an alternative. I found MB and got me an account. But I was kinda hesitant to use it, because I very rarely see payment possibility through MB.

I got to this forum in my search for others who use it and to hear their stories. I found my answer. I am definitely going for Moneybookers.

I think it's important that everyone who uses MB needs to help to promote this service, because the more people know about it, the easier it will be for us to use it. I'm going to write something about it in my blog.
