I mean PayPal is better for sellers. When you sell through AP, you never know when the buyer refund the transaction. PayPal seems a little bit more secure for sellers. Also fees are little bit better on PP, when you are sending as Personal pament.
I like Alertpay but it is not popular enough. Most people want payments to be made to them via paypal instead.
We don't really see AlertPay down-under. I hear good things about it but don't really see it here in Australia.
I use paypal now alertpay is good, but I don't like their user interface. I like paypal because many people all over the world using it, and most of the payment processor at Buy and Sell subforum use paypal.
Paypal is way ahead of alretpay. I am having trouble disposing of my remaining balance in alretpay so it only goes to show who is more popular
I also want to switch for some reason but I have no choice for now since most of the people uses paypal.
I use both but Paypal is most used payment gateway according to me..I do mostly all my transactions using paypal.
Be careful with Alertpay. For a strange reason they did not accepted a payment by credit cards so they suggested I transfer the money by bank transfer. They did not mention it will cost £2.25 to do so and hence I had to little money to pay the seller and so I wanted to withdraw the money which itself cost £2.25. Very bad handling!!! I go for Paypal; never had issues with them. They are more reliable and more people are using it.
I choose PayPal because there's a lot of online store and domain/hosting company using PayPal for their online transactions. So far I don't have any experience with AlertPay, if you have one, please share it.
I'm a user of both PayPal & AlertPay. I'm even a Xoom user! But the truth for me is that PayPal is almost everywhere & is like a household name already. I guess PayPal obviously has the first-to-market advantage over AlertPay. And I think AP isn't that aggressive with their tie-ups especially with local financial institutions (at least for my location) because I mostly see Xoom as the more aggressive player in this space. Also, AP is mostly seen (in my opinion & experience) in paid-to-click sites maybe because of the relative ease-of-use & lack of stringent policies which imho brings a bit of a tarnish on their reputation.
