Until recently I hadn't heard of AlertPay, until I was forced to join same (on July 17th) in order to transact a payment with an organisation (based in the US) - who used them as a payment intermediary. Having opened an account, gone through the nausea of verification and (via bank transfer) deposited a substantial amount into same - I then found that although I could see the money in the account I couldn't get access to it?? So I sent AlertPay an E Mail asking why - no response! Another four E Mails later - the last of which threatening legal action, I finanlly got a return E Mail consisting of a very lame apology and no excuse as to why it took ten days to get to this point. Now bearing in mind that the cash in the account is clearly visible, the agent then asked me to send a copy of my bank statement showing that the money had been sent by my bank - duh!!!!!! This I've done, along with an advisory to AlerPay indicating that the deadline for payment (with the US organisation) is August the 1st. It's (now) the 30th of july and nothing's happened, I.e. no further E Mail responses and the cash is still stuck in the account!! In all my experience, I've never had the misfortune to deal with an organisation run on such ineptitude. Thier service is utterly abysmal and it's pretty obvious that they don't give a damn about their customers. If this company had been based within the UK, the Financial Services Agency would have shut them down a long time ago. What a way to run a business! Unfortunately the US organisation I was dealing with didn't use PayPal - if they had, then my transaction with them would have been concluded on day one - done and dusted! There's only one way to deal with a company like AlertPay - napalm! Though legal action on my part is still an option! Si thee
i have being using paypal and had started to use alertpay nowadays What sucks in paypal is that they charge chragebacks and also go in favour of Credit card users, this can bring great loos to the seller (chargebacka mount and fee), i myself had gone through it. Well i had just started to use alertpay, but it seems that the number of people using paypal is much more that alertpay. I have both and I am shifting toward alertpay.
they are legit, i love it coz they process adult and some other things of mine super no verification needed super
Alertpay is better in one way, it allows and give option to receive and withdraw money to members from many countries, much more countries than Paypal does. In other way Paypal is better because it's widely used and more popular than Alertpay.
For me here in Malaysia, Alertpay is definately better than Paypal as Alertpay suports local banking here whereas Paypal does not.
I think alertpay is about to go under. Avoid them! (see: http://dev.alertpay.com/forums/t/3000.aspx )
It certainly doesn't look good taking a look at that thread, but it's important to realize that if they are interfacing with a US bank, that bank is on a long holiday. If the problem still exists by the close of business on Tuesday US time, then I think it may not bode well for AlertPay. Before we knock AlertPay too much, it's important to realize that a year ago Paypal had pending payments for a couple of weeks to thousands of people using the withdraw to visa option.
Paypal has a great money market rate, plus nice cashback with their debit card. That ends the debate for me.
I think Paypal is all the way far far better than Alert pay. Now-a-days alert pay a get a lot of respect from most of the Webmaster but i don't think its a good time to mess up with the best one.
well after i posted my message i also tried a bank wire withdraw - which they say still works - but with no luck either as of yet.... trying to find anyone in the last week or so who has actually received any money out of their alertpay account either by check or bank wire?
Hmm i use them both, but for me i got to go with Paypal since is so popular and alot of people using it.
I was thinkin about integrating it on a website I run just to provide more options. But after I read your post, I decided against it. Google Checkout is pretty decent for those who are looking for an alternative to paypal.
