Alert Pay is growing as a second tier payment processor. Yet, I still prefer PayPal and it's still best for merchants in my opinion. However, Alert Pay can be useful for some merchants who operate in industrys that PayPal hasn't been very friendly towards. The numbers speak in PayPal's favor for the current time being; they have a monopoly on the payment processing market in the United States and one if four shoppers domestically prefer and use PayPal. How many have heard of Alert Pay? Online financial transactions are all about trust for so many and the well branded and respected PayPal name offers just that.

As a merchant, trust means conversions, sales, and profit. Yet, Alert Pay offers a valuable product and fills a need in the Payment Processing industry. PayPal has left many sectors of the online economy out to dry; freezing accounts, limiting access to funds, and denying merchants participation in the program. I believe Alert Pay will grow exponentially with the release of their new Debit Card, set to debut later this year and hopefully sometime this summer! Currently, I've seen the Alert Pay membership base quoted at less than one million registered users and I think we'll see a lot more out of this new program with some upcoming features and developements for Alert Pay users.

    Best of luck to you.

I hate paypal and I wish alertpay becomes the best payment processor of 2008. Let all of us accept alertpay as a paypal alternative and make alertpay the best processor.

If I can buy and sell online with the help of Alert Pay as well as I do with PayPal I would switch but I haven't seen Alert Pay on any shopping site as yet.

Any proof for this? No, because it's completely untrue. AlertPay is a great alternative to Paypal and although I'll stick with Paypal; I will continue using AlertPay as a secondary payment processor. You may be thinking of eGold which has been accused of closing some accounts unjustly. However, I've never heard this claim in regards to AlertPay and with the expansion of their service, I think they'll increasingly become a viable alternative to Paypal in the future.

    Best & Take Care!

    Vote more for Alertpay now.
Not much hate or non-hate but we only want smooth transactions and good services,

    My plan is:

will use pay pal for amount less than $5, (away from it gradually)
and use more amount on others ie Alertpay,Western Union, Moneybookers etc...

So another monopoly example isn't good to us (consumers for service)
At least 2 services providers to divide the market world, being better.

    There maybe an transition time.

    For your reference only.

    :)

I'm very excited that AlertPay may soon be releasing their own preloaded/prepaid debit card. I recently read this in an interview with a founder from AlertPay. The article stated that it may be released as soon as late this summer! I can't to hear more news on this and look forward to the further developement of the AlertPay service in the future. Right now Paypal's still number one and honestly, I love Paypal. However, competition can only make Paypal stronger and consumer choice is always a good thing. In short, while AlertPay nor Paypal are perfect; I appreciate the alerternative and worldwide coverage that Alert Pay provides.

As a seller there is no way I would accept AlertPay. They do not dispute chargebacks and charge the seller $30+ for each chargeback.

They are both fine, but i have had really terrible experience with Alert Pay customer service. I took out 300 out of my bank 14 business days ago! They took the money out of my bank but never transferred it to my Alert Pay Account, i tried to contact them twice. They put me on hold for 30-45 mins and hang up.

If you are asked to send the item before receiving the money this is obviously a typical Nigerian Scam. Always get the money first before sending the item. The most basic rule of business. It doesn't matter what type of payment processor you use.

For those who wonder what country AlertPay currently support for banking here are the following country.

    Australia
    Austria
    Belgium
    Bulgaria
    Canada
    Czech Republic
    Denmark
    Estonia
    Faroe Islands
    Finland
    France
    Hong Kong
    Hungary
    Ireland
    Italy
    Lithuania
    Malaysia
    Netherlands
    New Zealand
    Norway
    Poland
    Portugal
    Singapore
    Slovakia
    South Africa
    Spain
    Sweden
    Switzerland
    United Kingdom
    United States

There will be plenty of more country that AlertPay will start to support soon.
