    I think the pin is for other countries... I know when I verified my account I got 2 deposits in my checking account and verified the amounts with PayPal 2 days later and voila! Best of luck to you.

    it matters what is going on with the paypal servers...it may be instant or can take up to 48 hours

    avg should be a few hours

    For my US paypal account the only way to get verified is "Get Verified with a Bank Account". Is that the only way to get verified?

    Yes, adding a Debit card doesn't verify you. You need to add a bank account that is registered to the same address as your PayPal account.
