Go back to Bank and tell them about this. A card must have a 3 digit CVV2 number .. its like mandatory for all banks..

i have a visa electron card and it has security code on the back of the card... there should be 7 digit number next to your signature on the back of your card.

its the last 3 numbers its asking u for :D

It is not necessary to be a classic VISA. Many banks these days offer VISA Electron which can be used for online payments without any problem.

Check at the back of the card on the place where you are supposed to sign your signature. The CVV number should be printer printed on that signature bar. Some cards may just show the 3 digit number, some would show the last 4 digits of the credit card number followed by the 3 digital number. That last set of 3 digit numbers is the CVV number.

However, like most Debit Cards from India, I suspect that it cannot be use for international purposes and thus may lack the CVV to complete the purchase.

Well, I have two debit and credit cards from separate banks (there's a reason for that, btw) and one of the debits is Visa electron and PayPal doesn't take it... the other one is plain Visa and it works fine.
Now that I remember, I was told by one of my banks that if my debit card didn't work, I should contact PayPal first and they would set it up for me. Try that.
