PayPal verification(US only)

I'm needing to get a verified PayPal account. I'll be using my real name, address, etc. It's my first and only. It doesn't need to be a sellers account, as I have no intention of selling anything.

The problem is that a bank account or credit card is out of the question.

I've been reading older posts here and around the web for the last 6 straight hours that suggest things like VCC, Gift Cards, and Greendot. However, none of these things appear to work anymore in the U.S.

What I'm wondering is if *any* pre-paid debit cards still work to verify PayPal accounts.
I know they need to contain your name and address, which is fine. As I said, I'm not banned from PayPal and I'm using my real info.

I can't get a bank account or CC. I can't get the CC because I have no credit history. I can't get the bank account, because my parents are loons, and don't trust banks. I'm over 18, but I'm physically disabled, and rely on my parents for transportation. Both of these are out of the question, as I've mulled over how to achieve them for a long time. There's no solution I haven't explored.

If you're not from the U.S. or don't know what works specifically in the U.S. now(not this last winter), please don't post. The gap between non-U.S. and U.S. verification processes is wide. I'm in the U.S. and need U.S. advise.

Try etrade. You should be able to get a US bank account without going into a branch. That's the best compromise that I can think of if it's possible for you. I believe you would need to email in some documents, but shouldn't need to go anywhere.

The way that US accounts are verified is that a small amount of money is transferred to your bank account from PayPal. Unless you have a prepaid card that allows transfers that way, it probably won't work for verification.

The bank account I have attached to my PayPal is one I applied for online and all account statements are online only. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it because it was at Washington Mutual which has been borged by Chase, and Chase doesn't seem to offer any similar new accounts.

You might apply for an ING Direct account, which you apply for online (you need to transfer money from an existing account, but it may work to transfer money from a prepaid card - I'm not sure.)

It looks like you can use ING Direct accounts with PayPal:

Our US Mastercard still both verifies and can be used to withdraw from Paypal. You do not have to visit anywhere to get it, but to withdraw you need to get to an ATM.

If this works for you visit us.

Don't have $1,000 to open account.

    Thanks for the suggestion :)
    Unfortunately, it won't work.

As far as I know that stopped working in late July.
I've probably read fifteen threads about it, and they all contain
towards the end of the thread(usually in late July/early August).
Either EBay has banned it outright, or banned it in most cases.
It may still work for legitimate accounts, I'm not sure. As all of this info I can find is inevitably on EBay seller forums, discussing how to get dozens of accounts using fake info.
I read a few people claiming it worked two weeks ago, but they were rebutted by several others who say it doesn't work now.

If you know it still works, I'll absolutely set things up with it. But I can't risk getting my account flagged if it doesn't work. I need something reliable, as this is my only shot.
