I'm looking to accept credit cards on my website and I just wanted to know what I needed to apply to (as I'm a complete beginner in this area). I sell software on my website and want to accept 2 kinds of payment: - Paypal (where people sign in and pay with their paypal account) or - Manually entering CC information (no signing in to paypal required). I heard Paypal is capable of doing both but I wasn't sure. Are they part of the same package? I know there are transaction costs involved, but is there a monthly fee involved in any? And where do I sign up? Lastly, are there any tips I should know about?
I don't think you are entitled to accept CC payments through PayPal, you will need a Merchant account for that to happen. Google for Merchant account and you will have your answer. between, as far as accepting PayPal payments are concerned if you have a PayPal account than you are in good shape to send/receive money with it.
