Crap. I can change my details, but of course name cannot be changed. So sending a pic of my father's passport wouldn't be a good idea. I'm kinda running out of ideas. Got to try to send the real pic of my passport and see what they will do.. :/
I just turned 18 whoohoo, but I have my paypal in my mums name and all my sites as well. We are changing them over at the moment, but its not important. Get your parents to help you out and get them to send in a letter explaining that you didnt read the rules and could they please change the account into one of their names?
I'm sorry I just think it's very funny how you tried to cover your ID You knew the risks when signing up but if you want to get your account back, I'd suggest you wait until your 18th birthday and then send in any ID's. Good luck
If you got ID's that look like this in America: http://www.marcovanderziel.nl/images/idkaart.gif (not me on the pic) Then you got just use photoshop, glue, another card (some sort of membership card) and be creative. Not that I used to do that kind off stuff to get into clubs when I was underage
PayPal can't steal your money. You might have to have your parent claim it and have it sent to you via a check or something though after they close your account. Tell them the truth, ask them how you can get your money. They wont steal your cash.
Well I am only sixteen and I have a fully verified premier PayPal account. I added my bank account, debit card and at one point they even asked for my social security number - which I ended up providing. I have had no problems since. They never asked for my age and I have never had to give it to them In your case, I recommend sending in a picture of your social security card since it does not include your birth date on it and is probably the most reliable form of identification.
Why would it be illegal for someone that was 16 or 17 to have a paypal account when they have a job and pay taxes?
Why don't you just "change" your birthday on your passport with photoshop or something before sending it. Its not like they'll verify your passport. Just change the birthday to the one you registered on PayPal. Or would they do something about that? . I've had 3 accounts limited and blocked for "suspicious activity", they take your money and close it. Also, in my case if you have a negative balance before its limited, they send it over to a collection, and they jack you either way.
I didnt even realize PayPal required a birthdate on signup, because I seriously don't remember giving up that information (im not under 18). My account was limited about a year ago, but I called in and 15 minutes later it was back to normal. They did send a letter to my house with a verification number I needed to enter, but that was it.
The Terms and Conditions on Paypal is very clear that you need to be above 18 years old when you signed up with them. Because of the massive number of customers they have, they trust that you provide accurate information and along the way at certain point they would ask for a copy of your documentations to ascertain that you are telling the truth. If you cannot be trusted to provide accurate information, how would Paypal be able to trust you ?
