Hey all, so I am fairly new to using PayPal and although I am comfortable with using PayPal to make purchases online, I'm still not sure how to receive payments in case I do chose to partake in writing articles and whatnot in the near future. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would be willing to clarify the process to me. Andy
I am assuming that you have a Premier or a Business Paypal account. Paypal offers 3 ways of receiving payments. One method is to give your email address to your customer who uses the Send Money method. Second method is to create a Request Money where you need the buyer's email address, you set the details and Paypal will mail them an email on how to pay. Use the 'Request Money' tab after you log into your paypal account. Third method is to create a Buy Now button. Go to Merchant Services and select Buy Now Buttons , there you can set up the details of the transaction. This would be a good option if it is a fixed payment. Once generated, you can just put the generated codes on your website or email them to your customer.
If you use a personal account for business, just make sure that you are not found out because there can hell to pay.
To receive money, just give your employer your paypal email id and if they have a paypal account they can send you money via paypal pretty quickly. As long as you are not planning to receive money on large scale from a variety of customers, a personal account would do just good
Premier account allows you to make money from your paypal account and open up your customer based from the 40+ countries seller-members to all types of paypal members from the 190+ supported countries. All incoming payments to a Premier account is charged a fee. Click on Fee at the bottom of the Paypal page to see fees. A Premier account allows you to accept unlimited Credit card transactions at a lower fees compared to a Personal account which is charged a higher fees and limited to up to 5 credit card transactions a year. Remember that only Paypal sellers would have paypal balances which they can pay to personal accounts and that is a small minority. If you have a Premier account, you do not have such limits.
one way would be, if you receive many small payments (all are same amount). they will limit your account and will ask the details.
All your transactions through Paypal is logged in their system and that is why you can view the history of all the transactions you have done during the past year. Of course if they keep track of all your transactions, they will know that you are receiving more than what a normal account would receive. When your customer uses the Send Money method, they need to determine what the transaction is for and may add a remarks. It would be senseless to think that a multi-billion dollar company like Paypal would not have spent hundreds of million dollars or more in securing their system and preventing abuses. You do the maths.
AVarshneya, since you are new to papal, I have a simple advice for you. Just give your paypal account to anyone who has to pay you. This is paypal account information is in the form of an email address which is created by you at the time of opening a paypal account. In other words, just give your paypal email address to your buyer who will be making the payment to your paypal account.
