Hi DPers, As u know, we can add upto 8 emails to the same Paypal Account. But if i want to transact ( like sending funds ) using the additional email ids other than main one, how to proceed?
For sending funds your primary email will work only or show to others in record. but for receive payment you can use any email from them.
Alright if you guys really know the real info about this email thingy, tell me what email address will be shown in the senders paypal logs when they send money to mine non-primary email address (one o the 8 email address added in paypal account). What actually i am trying to do is to not let the sender know my exact i.e primary email address? If i ask the sender to send money to that non-primary email, and if the same is listed in his/her logs, can he still see my primary email address in any way? If you have links to any thread or paypal links about it. Juts plz let me know Thanks very much
Your primary account name will be shown to the sender even if he/she sends payment to your non-primary (2nd email) PP name attached to your primary PP account. For example, if your primary PP name is "abc@xxxxx.com" and your attached/second email name is "xyz@xxxxx.com", and the sender sends payment to your "xyz@xxxxx.com", then only the "abc@xxxxx.com" (your primary PP name) will be emailed to the sender as PP's payment receipt acknowledgment. HTH. I have tested and found this fact some time back.
Dont confuse people with paypal email address and customer name on paypal.! Your example is totally confusing Whats primary PP name? Customer name or Email?
Even if a user pays to an addition email he still can see the main email id associated with that paypal account
Ok . You came to the point. Thanks for informing. I hope you are sure about this. I dont have issues with CUSTOMER name. Let the sender see it. Just to confirm, will the sender still see the primary email address when he/she will send money to secondary emaill addresses? Thats my main QUERY! Guys, kindly reply if you are sure about it or have tried already! Thanks in advance (for real info only)
Sorry for ignoring a particular instruction (of being tried it by myself), but I thought I could contribute in this: As an standard procedure, Paypal shows any paying party the "Primary Email" attached to the receiver's account. To overcome it, you can try the following: For the period of the transaction in question, you can go the "Add/Edit Emails" option and there, select your secondary email on which you want to receive the funds and click on "Make primary". This will now make that Email your primary email and will be shown to the customer. As your original primary mail has now become secondary, it shouldn't show up in the transaction. After successfully completing the transaction, you can either let it continue to be your primary email or can revert to the original.
If you are pointing to my example above your remark, then you must have come from the Mars! The example is quite clear and can be understood if you know that the email ID used to open the primary Paypal account is also the "name" of that account. That primary PP a/c name, i.e., the email ID of the receiver AND the name of the Primary PP a/c holder is displayed to the payer and not any other email ID (to which the payer pays) details which is attached to that primary Paypal ID. Also, your actual email ID AS WELL AS your name with which you have opened the primary PP a/c. are ALSO displayed to the payer by Paypal, and not the other name that your attached email has. Huussshhhhhhhh..... Here is the actual Paypal acknowledgment that will be received by the payer (at least I got it that way when I tested) along with some other related details: (Please note: I had sent money to the second email ID of the receiver and not to his primary PP address. Still I, as the payer, got the following acknowledgment.) Quote: <receiver's primary Paypal email ID> to me Hello <Payer's actual name>, This email confirms that <the Primary Paypal Account holder's actual name, and not the name of the secondary email ID that is attached to the primary PP acount> has accepted the <$x.xx = the amount that you have sent to the attached email/PP of the receiver> USD you sent. Unquote. Note: The words in brackets in the above quote are simply the email ID, names concerned, and the amount paid. Yes, the email actually metioned the "$" sign as well as the "USD", for example, "$1.00 USD". I have just added my comments there (in the brackets) to make it as clear and unconfusing to you as humanly possible. Still confused??? Then please forget my post and keep looking eternally... P.S.: Unless of course you try Ausdrez' method mentioned above and hide your primary PP ID details from your payers. If you're using upto 8 different emails IDs just to hide your primary PP details from your payers, then good luck to you controlling the whole "jigsaw puzzle"...
