I see in my Paypal account:
"This list doesn't include your most recent account activity yet."
    Why do they do that?

I just saw it for the first time. They popped up a notice explaining it to a point. They don't give out why (most likely fraud screening or similar), but they stated that your balance will always be correct.

Yeah, I thought the same. Tranactions that are reversed due to takeover's etc will never actually show up on your statement. Just another way of making PayPal look cleaner than it actually is.

Regular banks have been doing the same thing for quite a while with their "pending transactions".

I noticed this as well. With the popularity, global aspect and ease of use of paypal, it has become a very large target for fraud.

It really has become a serious problem for them. Some of these transaction never hit users statements now cleaning things up and probably reducing the size of their enormus databases as well.
