As I see, seems paypal want check your funds only. Not from your client. They should remove temporarily hold soon. You should provide them some thing to complete it sooner. :)

GetJimmy, everything will settle down in few days. As you have good ratings and all transactions are fair, no one can steal your money. Paypal will lift hold on your account very soon. $5K is not an ordinary amount. Huge.!.

    Hi getjimmy,

I have experienced temporary hold twice in the last two months when I received from buyer a $700 last month and $600 this month. Don't worry much about it, if your transaction is legitimate. They will remove the negative on your account in the next 15 days. Also ask the sender of the money to email PP that the transaction is legitimate. Paypal is conducting this stuff for security purposes only. Relax, and don't worry much about it.

    Cheers ;)

This is exactly why I'm staying away from PayPal. They closed my account about 3 years ago and I haven't used them since then (luckily I didn't loose any money at all, but I still got a valuable lesson).

One of the problems are that they are not a bank so they can pretty much do as they like since you can complain to FDIC when they take your money :(

I'm not saying anything is going to happen, but just to be on the safer side, if I were you, I'd edit my Paypal profile and remove the correct telephone number, residence address and the credit card from my account until everything is cleared up.

Probably your client sent you funds from stolen account, or using a stolen CC. Did you contact your client? If yes, what did he say? Is he willing to co-operate with you in assisting Paypal?

I did not anything wrong so i dont care to change any paypal account information.

I respect my client and he told he sent funds from his PP only.Yes he is co-operating.We r still doing business and i am receiving his payments directly via XOOM.

Well, I would like to sum up by saying in two lines:
    1) This issue must have started because they are suspicious about the transaction. Paypal does not encourage acceptance of payment for selling other tyes of monetary.
    2) You must have dealt with the wrong guy during transaction. The person from whom you received the amount may not be in good books of paypal.

I dont think your speculation is applicable here. Getjimmy already said that he's still doing business and he's receiving his payments directly via XOOM. This is just a random paypal security check. Nothing to worry about because I have encounter these couple of times on my account and they returned my money. ;)

jimmy, I think you will pass it after 180 days. I have an account frozen for 180 days because of wrong bank number. They will give us back, but donno when the sucker will give us back!
