Paypal recently sued Google saying that it's mobile payment technology has been copied by Google. The law suit filed in state court, San Jose, California says, Osama Bedier, a former PayPal executive now at Google, stole PayPal’s confidential information. It further elaborates that Stephanie Tilenius, another ex-PayPal executive now at Google, violated contractual obligations by recruiting Bedier, PayPal said. Bedier “is now leading Google’s efforts to bring point-of- sale technologies and services to retailers on its behalf,†according to the complaint. It appears that mobile payment is going to be a dominant mode of transactions in near future and companies are trying to be first to enter market. Is Paypal already offering these services?
I don't think they are offering these services already.. I mean you could always access paypal.com with an android like you would from your own pc and make payments but I guess that is not the case .. whatever this might be it has not been implemented yet .. that is why they are fighting so hard
These mobile payments are already available in the UK and are being trailed in a number of stores, im not sure of the company behind the tech though but i cant remember paypal or google being one of them.
May it be a kind of marketing to annouce Paypal is the pioneer of offering the service? Or ... any other intention?
