I tried it but don't see my customers liking it or trusting it. They prefer to use a credit card without signing up & waiting for back and forth confirmation emails. I also like being able to get my hands on funds ASAP with PayPal's debit card. Paypal also lets me set up automatic post-payment pages where customers can do automatic downloads after payment. Could moneybookers be used at a domain registrar to buy a domain automatically as soon as payment is made? I can see moneybookers being an alternative for one-offs in countries that don't take PayPal.

Well I am glad to see that some people stood up for Paypal. Have I had problems with them? Yes but I expected it. Life happens.

Everyone pushing moneybookers.. It reminds me of the days when everyone was talking about how great ikobo was.

I read Moneybooker's terms of service, well at least some of it. I could have written that. It almost looked like someone wrote it without any knowledge of the industry.

Maybe moneybookers will keep going - I hope they do. It will help others in parts of the world where Paypal is unable to due to cross-bordering regulations governed by Visa and MasterCard (not Paypal).

Instead of complaining, use the time to put into your business and to help it succeed. That way, everyone will win

I too agree with the fact that Moneybookers is a much better company than paypal is. I use moneybookers for anything that is a large transaction now because paypal cannot be trusted at all. they are thieves and do not conform to any banking laws.

    Are you serious?

Anyway this is my favorite part:

9.2. Customer should note that all payments made are final and not reversible once the recipient has received the payment sent by Moneybookers in accordance with Customer's instructions. Moneybookers cannot arrange for funds to be given back to Customer where Customer believes the payment was made in error.

and it is also the place where Paypal and Moneybookers policies severely diverge.

As for the Ikobo parallel I don't think that it applies, Ikobo is still alive and kicking but the delays and hassles that plagued it were there from its very inception.

    Regards, George

I agree, paypal sucks! Moneybookers is good BUT, they do have problems when it comes to SWIFT transfers to international banks. The support guys, though they sound helpful but they sometimes take a long time to answer annnd some of them are really stupid! Still... I prefer moneybookers to collect money from my clients. Has any of you used their merchant account? Is it any good? Do share!

I live in the US and it normally takes them about 2 days to deposit into my account. I did have an issue in the beginning with the verification, but after that all is smooth and gravy.

I transfered around 2000$ via moneybookers when I had my hosting company teahost.com and than I received about 10K via paypal when I sold all my customers :) they both work fine... I also used e-gold sometime earlier, they are all fine :) it all boils down to what ur needs are... MB has good coverage, pp is allot more popular and is A MUST on ebay :)

so, to sum up... I HATE BRAND LOVERS!

I take more of a bandwagon appeal. If more people are using paypal, I will use it. Why? So I can have more transactions with more people. I personally hate paypal's fees. They are so high for an automated process. But what can ya do?

Don't be a kid mate. Paypal was pretty cool for Indian accounts in the Pre-Feb 2010 era. It were our Indian Govt's actions that messed Paypal. To operate in our country they have meet our local govt's guidelines. :/ If Paypal could help it, India would have been one of its best served countries.
