Well im not necessarily blaming paypal because of this guy wanting to be a scam artist Im just saying its way to easy for someone to get their items and then also get their money back just because they want to be greedy. He apparently has reversed other people the same way from what im learning. I called paypal and asked if there was anything i could to to get this fixed and they said i need to provide tracking numbers. His paypal address is confirmed so tomorrow im going to mail of a CD with the same templates and designs on it. The paypal lady told me that if they get "signed confirmation" by him when the package gets there the funds will be returned because he posted the dispute as items not received. It would show that he did indeed get some type of package. I dont know if this will work but i will post with updates when i send this and give it a few days for the tracking.
Sending an actual CD is always the best way to go about this. 1. It is a tangible item 2. It is trackable Best of luck!
I hope it'll work out for you. It didn't for me when I sent the tracking number and all the postal papers to prove it...
I agree with someone who said that it was an intangible product and if you tell paypal that, they should not offer any protection to him. The other way is to always get a email sent by the person stating that they received the product. I always do this with digital stuff because it is proof that you sent the stuff to the buyer. Normally with proof, paypal will step aside and close the dispute.
I find this as a credit card payment or from unverified buyer maybe. I am thats why NEVER ACCEPTING CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS EVER. And Dealing with money like $325, I would only deal with verified buyers and trusted people. I've lost $1500 once, but good thing was that the work was done of only $300 and loss was only $200, but still $200 was a big value for me
you being the owner, sell it again or distribute it free. If you have a legal adviser see how they can help you. It's a lil tricky situation, as you have no option at times. Bad luck this time... ~G
Hold on lady. It has nothing to do with Paypal. Usually sellers win disputes over intangible goods, bc Paypal favors them. See their policy regarding intangible goods. But hopefuly when a US buyer is in good faith and wants his money back because he got scammed by a seller, then he has the CC chargeback method. By the way if there was a chargeback, you have to blame credit card companies not Paypal. I just see that you are a noob and you admitted not having any experience in previous posts. So...... A guy scammed you, but at least you didn't lose big or real money. You just worked for peanuts this time, move on but don't blame companies for that. It's also your fault if you sell your work without any signed agreements. You are responsible for what happened, indirectly responsible. Sorry, but you won't attract my pity by blaming other ppl instead of the scammer. Is the scammer a DP member? Where do you sell your templates? Bye
Paypal is really sucks , I'm sorry to hear that you lost 325 $ , as for me I'm using my paypal account only in DP ( and accept payments only from trusted members ) . Moneybookers is really the possible best solution for internet deals, it's very easy to use and much more logical rather when paypal is , and there is no chargeback . Wish you luck anyway
Irrelevant post. While you talking about good faith buyers, this case shows a scammer's action. There won't be any problem with good faith buyers...This thread wouldn't exist if it was a good faith buyer...
Well there is an easy situation out of this and I've used it numerous times against buyers like this. In the dispute I put the tracking # as "intangible goods (item)" so I usually put web hosting as the item but I assume it should be a no issue for templates, designs ect. A lot of people say paypal is bad this and that but if you provide a tracking # or if it's an intangible good you will win 99.5% of the time. Of course charge backs are another thing but you have the same issue with accepting credit cards through a merchant account anyways.
Paypal is Really Safer for me ! It helps me a lot ! They used to have the best safety measures amongst any other money transfer company ! But, i think if u not gonna use paypal anymore , then u can go for moneybookers or i suggest Western union wud be good as well as you are getting high amounts !
he didnt use a credit card he used his paypal account to send an instant transaction , as far as "being a noob" has nothing to do with it. He put in a complaint saying that item was never received as if i was sending him an actual product. You can post without sounding so rude.
I sent him a CD today and hope that he signs for it because then it will show that he received something. Without the signature confirmation i will lose the dispute.
If you read what others have mentioned it's an intangible good say that to paypal in the dispute and you will win the dispute. Paypal clearly states to a buyer that there is 0 protection for intangible goods.
He will not sign. He got the stuff already, and his money back. He's not interested about anything else. I bet he won't sign...
im sure you are right he probally wont sign. But it was the last resort really. If he doesnt then i guess theres nothing i can do about it. I just need to use a different payment processor or start using Western Union.
PinkMisfit, were you able to withdraw all the funds from your PayPal account before the buyer's dispute? If so, you can simply ignore the negative balance in your PayPal account and never look at that account again. Also, make certain that you put forth a stop-payment if PayPal attempts to deduct the amount from your bank account. In most cases, they know these are your intentions and will send a collection agency after you. There's little they can do as well, given that this was definitely fraud committed on the buyer's part. I truly do hope that you protected yourself by cashing your PayPal balance.
