PayPal - some help please

To cut a long story short my PayPal account was hijacked and nearly $6,000 taken from my credit card and bank account

My cc company and bank accepted this and refunded my money

Paypal refuse to accept fraudulent activity and have turned my account negative!!

I've been looking at alternatives to PayPal and virtually settled on AlertPay as being the nearest to PayPal capabilities

Does anyone have any experience - good, bad or indifferent - with AlertPay

if you know of a better alternative, please let me know

    Thanks

I have heard many horror stories about paypal. I think paypal should think seriously about this now. I am using paypal as I dont have any other alternative. But would like to switch to something as soon as I will get another choice.

Google Checkout now offers an invoice option and I use it with much success.
It may not be person-to-person like PayPal, but it doesn't come with the same risk that PayPal makes it's sellers assume.

Google checkout is available to US and British customers I believe.

Now the only question that I have is if one of my customers is from Australia can I still bill them via Google Checkout.

sorry to hear that, paypal don't co-operate most of the time, i like money bookers because they don't ask for a credit card for verification!

money bookers is suggested if you are looking for alternatives, but then i have never heard about the payment processor that you are talking about:)

    Thanks for answers so far

I was basically looking for a processor that was virtually identical to PayPal

I didn't want a straight merchant account, as I want to be able to buy and sell through the same one, and be able to put "Buy Now" buttons on my websites

The only one I've found that comes close seems to be AlertPay

If no one has any adverse experience with them, I'm going to give them a try
