I'm going to throw a tantrum if I can't get this sorted out. I've been trying to log in to the PayPal site for days but I either get error pages or nothing at all. I've tried using PayPal.com, PayPal.com/uk and PayPal.co.uk. When the site comes up there is no log in screen but there are some buttons that say "log in". Clicking on these brings up error pages. I've cleared my cookies and cache and lowered the security on IE to low-medium. I've emailed PayPal and had no reply. I've telephoned PayPal but they insist that their site always brings up a log in screen so what am I doing wrong? I can't get paid by anyone unless I can sort it out. I'd really appreciate any help.
I've tried Firefox but it won't connect to PayPal at all. aol now connects to PayPal as long as I type https:// and not http://. It brings up a log in screen but I can't log on. If I type my details in and try to log on it brings up an error page. It won't let me reset my password. I've run all the things at the command prompt such as scannow and I've reregistered some of the dll files but I still haven't had any luck. Soemtimes you just want to chuck the computer out of the window and take up knitting.
try to logon from a diffrent location in your area... if you loged in from another computer then it will clear that the problem is in your PC !!!!
Cookies are enabled in my browser. I rang PayPal again and they tested my log in details on their website and said everything was working as it should. I asked for help from AOL and they suggested a few things which didn't help at all. The AOL browser is the only one that loads the PayPal website but it doesn't quite finish loading. It says there are 2 more items to download and then stops. The log in screen does nothing and the links to the forgotten password do nothing. I'm really stumped on this one as I seem to have tried everything, including going back to a previous restore point on the computer.
Yes I've done all that. There was a trojan threatening but that's been dealt with. I'm at my wits end. I'm even considering paying someone to come and sort it out. Now that is getting serious.....
Hmmm. A trojan threatening ... I wouldn't even consider logging into a financial site like Paypal if my computer had been compromised by a trojan. The trojan may have been dealt with but you have no idea what other crap has been dumped onto your machine via the backdoor the trojan left.
I would recommend u a full format of your hardisk and reinstall window i wont open paypal.com if my pc has that type of viruses!
I've done a virus scan. Norton didn't allow this virus to infect my computer and my husband assures me that it's safe to continue without formatting the hardisk.
I've found that I have several hosts files and all of them listed PayPal. I've removed the entries. There were also entries for things like Amazon and ebay. I still can't connect to PayPal. I'm not sure what to do now.
i can open other websites, sometimes i can't open facebook, but i am unable to open paypal and paypal is more important for me then facebook . some one please help.
Use a different computer like at a family member's residence or your local library (do not autosave passwords on family member's computer or public computers) and see if you can replicate the same problem you're having on their computer. If not then somebody is trying to grab your Paypal password and other important financial information. Norton Virus and other anti-virus software are not always 100% safe. Identity thieves are always pushing out new trojan viruses.
Calling up PayPal won't help. This is a problem with your computer or your internet connect. Call your computer guy and internet guy to fix this. Shouting here or hammering PayPal wouldn't help.
Disable/uninstall any ad blocking (Adblock, for instance) or privacy (Blur/Abine, for instance) extensions. Occasionally, these extensions could break a site. Remember to restart before logging in again. Alternatively, download the Pale Moon browser. It is a stripped down version of Firefox that only runs on the barest essentials. If you still can't log in with Pale Moon, then it's time to bring in the professionals (and no, I don't mean Jean Reno).
