Please help us resolve this case for you as soon as possible by reviewing the transaction details and the steps for what to do next described below. As you may know, credit card companies under certain circumstances may hold sellers liable for chargebacks unless they can prove they sufficiently fulfilled the terms of the order. PayPal understands that chargebacks can be frustrating and we're here to help you work through this situation. With your cooperation, we will assist you in disputing this chargeback. If you're not familiar with chargebacks, please visit our Resolution Center and click the Learn about chargebacks link. Because the owner of the account has initiated a chargeback, we have placed a temporary hold on the funds associated with this transaction until this case is resolved. This action was taken in accordance with the terms of the PayPal User Agreement. -------------------------------- Details of Disputed Transaction -------------------------------- Buyer's Name: William Stephens Buyer's Email: Transaction Date: Apr 16, 2005 Transaction ID: 50783202A2449915H Transaction Amount: -$8.95 USD Case #: PP-082-316-033 Please help me what should I do with this problem? hmm .. that's weird .. You can check your paypal history or receipt to make sure the amount and if the amount is not correct, complain to paypal. I've seen several cases like this, and paypal will do the chargeback no matter what you say. So it's better not to have too much money in your paypal account anytime. Sorry i cant help much. Maybe some1 here can help you out. Just be careful, chargeback can be easily done using 2co and paypal. Althought paypal doesnt like chargeback
I am afraid your out in the cold, unless you can some how prove that the product was dellivered to the card holders billing address.
It is a direct delivery module. I'm using Oscommerce when you make the payment you are authorised to download the software. I might be having the logs. I can verify it without any problem! I have I think that persons IP too!
I have sent all the relevent information: Customer Name: Date of registration: How many copies purchased: Mode of payment: Downloaded version (how many copie) How many logons: And Other details (not posting it for security reason's). I will not give the money back at any cost, what they think buy the product and ask for chargeback? or if some one has used the card its their responsibility to use their Cards or anything for that matter carefully! I'm I responsible? for this? if some one comes with some one else card and buy's a product from my shop? why should I be blamed?
Welcome to Paypal's hell world, imran... happens all the time and nothing you can do about it. I have also been hit by many similar chargebacks, and always end up loosing the money.
Happens no matter how you take payments. If a stolen credit card is used even at a store where the actual card was scanned, the store is still the one that loses out if the card was stolen. The card owner isn't liable, and the credit card company isn't going to take the loss, and it must be noted that the credit card company has quite a bit of power in this situation, so the store takes the hit.
Dear Imran Baig, Thank you for contacting PayPal. This information has been noted on the case. We are currently reviewing this chargeback and your account. Please allow us 30 days from the date of the chargeback to complete our investigation and determine an outcome. We will contact you if any further information is needed. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again. Sincerely, **** ****,******,**** *****,****** What does he mean by reviewing my account? Is my account in any form of danger?
If you take a swipe of the card, and get a confirmation code, as a merchant you do get some prototection. Online... none.
Why is my account in danger what I have done? PayPal is the payment gateway. These people are responsible for what ever happens why blame on me? if some one uses unathorised card? give me a good solution, dont scare me I have some money in that account!
Your account is not in danger. The only thing that you are in danger of losing is the money you collected that is in question from the credit card company. Chargebacks are a pain in the a$$ that merchants just have to live with. Paypal does actually try to avoid refunding money disputed via credit card chargebacks, so it is good that you can provide Paypal with all the info you have on the transaction in question. Unfortunately, I'd say the credit card company "wins" 75% of the time. I have had 4 or 5 chargebacks come through Paypal and 1 of those Paypal refused to give the credit card company the money back. You just have to write these things off as a business expense and forget about it, or pursue your customer directly (collections agencies, etc).
Thanks for this information, Now I'm relaxed. I dont care about the money to hell with it but my acccount has huge money init I will by ordering for cheque now!! Thanks!
Never leave a cent in your paypal account! Always transfer it to your bank account, paypal can lock your account whenever they want to and you won't be able to touch your money.
I've used Paypal for years and have had thousands of dollars processed through them. I have never had any sort of problems. If you are not doing anything wrong and running a legit business, then Paypal can not "lock your account whenever they way". Paypal is owned by eBay and I seriously doubt there is anything shady going on .
Oh, VS... just take a look at paypalsucks... believe me, they CAN do it, and they DO do it... no woarning, no notice, just one day you find your account locked and nothing you can do until they do their "investigation". I had 3 accounts locked because of chargebacks. You are a honest seller, then one day some damn crook uses a stolen credit card, and you get hit by a chargeback and get your account frozen. I never leave a cent in my paypal account now. I lost almost $1,000 bucks with them. P.S. Love your new avatar!!
Well, I've had chargebacks occur and my account has never been locked, so I can only share my experiance . Thanks for the compliment on my avatar, fryman!
Lets see what happens, I have stopped selling the software now. Dont want this mess planing to release it as a freeware!!
