Paypal refunded even after she admitted getting item

    A lady thought you had to put a chargeback in to get a tracking number and did this two days after buying an item from which had to be sent to America from the U.K and this takes at least a week. I told the lady this and she said she did not know how to reverse the charge and that she had now received her book and was happy. I don't send tracking to the states as it is way to expensive and the item is not high value but I sent the email to paypal stating that she had received the book and thanking me.

    I again told her to take the chargeback down and she said she did not know how to do so and this morning she was refunded, again paypal look into fook all and have gvien her this money back because they always do and its easier, is there any point in me taking this any further and if so what should I do as it has peed me off to be fair as she has the goods and I have nothing.

    Paypal always supports buyers.:(

    But if the lady got the book as well as money, can't she pay you again??:rolleyes:

    Simply put, I think your buyer is trying to cheat you since it is not very difficult to reverse a charge back!

    She simply does not want to pay you....I am sorry but this is the way PP functions as they always consider buyers to be honest and sellers to be cheaters! Buyers have been misusing the system for so long and I am surprised that PP has not yet woken up to this fact! :eek: :(

    Exactly same thing happened to me and amt was 402$. I got charged with more 10$ as chargeback fee.

    I sent tracking number and document signed by customer to paypal but...

    Thanks everyone, I have told her to repay and she says she has not been refunded, which she has, I think she may have paid by card and it has gone back to her bank account. I have no options but to trust she finds it and repays. But why do paypal even bother asking you to provide details. I have sold thousands of these items and paypal know it, I have been a member for over 5 years, do paypal really think I am just going to decide to start scamming people, no they are too big and just pretend its on hold and refund anyway.

    Sorry to say, but this happens a lot. I got burned twice no oversea delivery. I no longer ship overseas if I sell something on ebay. In one case I even had an email from the person stating that the package was held in customs. Paypal reversed the money and a week later the package arrived. The second time I even shipped it through paypal and dropped it off at the post office and a few days later paypal reversed the money because the buyer had not received the item. The problem is that USPS doesn't update international delivers very well and packages get stuck in customs so all the person has to do is just file a claim and they will get both your money and your product.

    The only thing I could do was file a claim with USPS, they automatically cover you up to I think $67 (varies) on international delivers.

    As paypal indicates in their terms and conditions, obtaining a refund from the buyer is up to you. Buyer is clearly playing games with you, and paypal is only in it for themselves.

    I'd recommend phoning paypal and ask to speak to a resolutions manager...and be very polite :) they COULD help if they see fit.

    You can ask the lady to pay back if she is honest she will do it as she have been refunded there is nothing you can do with Paypal so contact her and ask to pay her back if she deny just tell her that you will register a case against her she may get affraid and pay you back. I hope this will help you out.

    You have always option to call paypal and tell them the situation so maybe they help you to contact this person if she is not answering you or is just playing games with you
