Well you can pay money in US $ even if you have Canadian Dollar. When you send payments you can see Currency on 3rd Raw where you can select different Currency.

For your payment you can uplode funds from your cards only if you not want to add Bank accounts.

Well, if you are using an attached credit card, you do not need pre-transfer funds from your credit card to your paypal account. At the time of the purchase, Paypal will first use all your existing balance in your paypal account which would be $0 and then would draw the remaining funds from your credit card on demand. So it is fine to keep zero dollar balances with your paypal account, all you need to do is to ensure that your credit card is active and has sufficient balance.

You do not need to worry about the currency exchange, paypal will do the conversion for you and billed you in Canadian Dollars to pay in US dollars. Pretty much how you make overseas purchases. I believe you will be given two options, one would be to charge your credit card in US dollars and let your bank decide on the exchange rate or have paypal do the conversion for you and they will bill you in Canadian dollars based on their exchange rate. Paypal typically would tag on 2.5% service charge if they do the conversion. If your bank converts, the rates would be dependent on what your bank policies are.

That is not true. You do not need to upload funds from your credit card, paypal will just charge the exact amount as and when you make the purchases. In fact, there is no option in Paypal to upload funds from a credit card.
