I had a person scam me $150 - he said his paypal account was closed and paypal deleted it - which i suspect his lying. We filed a dispute on his transaction - if his account was deleted by paypal wouldn't we even be able to make a dispute on him?
If u make a dispute no doubt that u wins as paypal suspects that account to be fraudalent. All the best.
IF his account has got limited and you have filed dispute. More likely you will get your funds back, as long they are your legit funds.
If he scammed you he's probably already taken the money out - so, if you win the dispute you'll get a note from paypal saying you won but theres no money - to answer your question, paypal wouldn't close his account they would limit it, if they did this he wouldn't be able to send or recieve funds until they lift the limit.
If the person who you sent the money to was a verified paypal member, you are covered under paypal's buyer protection program. (Paypal covers you up to $500 for verified members) On the other hand, if you sent the money to an unverified member, then you are not in the best position to win the case.
How did u paid him,if u paid by your credit card (attached with paypal) ,then just contact your Credit card company and open a dispute with them.
I will have to check if his a verifired user, thanks the helpful info - no i didn't use credit card it was legit funds from my account. Regards,
