Hi there, This is the first time I use Paypal... Maybe it sounds funny, but I've always used Moneybookers instead. I have verified it and now I'm kind of confused. When I click on Add Funds, there is only one option: Transfer Funds From a Bank Account in the United States. Since I don't live in the US, I don't have an US bank account. I thought I could add money from my credit card that I verified!?!? Or no? How can I add funds in the first place since there is only this one option? On Moneybookers I just upload the funds and then I spend them. No big deal. How do I do it here? Maybe I don't have to add funds? I just go and buy stuff and although the account balance is 0, it will just change the money I spend from my credit card? I hope you can understand what I wrote. Thanks.
If you are not from the US then you do not need to add funds to Paypal. Unlike Moneybookers which require you to load funds up, Paypal works as a pass-through service. It means that all you need to do is to attach a credit card to your paypal account and when you make a purchase, it will first utilize existing paypal balances and if there isn't any, it would use your credit card to pay. This is one major advantage as you do not need to lock up funds in your account and just pay exactly what is needed.
As far I know, If you dont have any balance in your paypal / it is zero balance, it will be automaticly charge your credi card if you make payment.
It's safe to add a credit card in PayPal. I have two and haven't had a problem. VCC verification will only get you so far without a problem so it really shouldn't be dependant on.
i have added my credit cards on my paypal and so far i did not have any problem... and i think it is safe to use CC's because i can always call my CC provider and ask for file a Chargeback if something goes wrong... but VCC's are not bad either except you cannot use it to buy things when you have 0 balance...
Paypal, from a merchant standpoint, makes me nuts. I'm in a business and have two or three accounts. Invariably Paypal has some sort of fraud protection set up so that I can't even pay my vendor, even if I want to. I wish people would give me more than one choice in paying them.
