 At the moment I do not have a PayPal account, but have been trying to get some feedback on the best way to protect yourself when one is set up.

Right now, I only have one account and really do not want to give PayPal access to it just in case something goes wrong and they wipe out my hard earned cash.

Does anyone have a different way of doing PayPal that is working for them?

What is the minimum to open up a PayPal?

I was thinking of linking it to a separate bank account at a different account and keeping only the minimum in there just in case someone hacks into the PayPal account.

    Thank you!

there's no minimum to open paypal account it's free. about the hack, don't worry, when someone from different ip log into your account, your account will be limited so the cash is safe. sounds good?

no, because paypal itself is a scammer. they just need to feel 'suspicious' and they'll limit your account. when it happens, you probably will not be able to withdraw your money. if they think your account has some 'unusual' activity, they'll limit your account. if your transactions are 'suspicious' according to them, they'll limit your account. if you withdraw to much, it will bring 'suspicion' to them and they'll limit your account.

what will happen when your account limited?
according to them, they'll 'investigate' your account and hold your money for 180 days(=6 months) if they find something 'suspicious', 'fraudulent' or 'unusual' according to their own judgement, they can close your account with your money in it. even if eventually they'll give your cash, would you like to wait 6 months to get it?

if you don't want headache and frustration, better avoid paypal

I would avoid PayPal if I can. But currently not.
I am having a lot of customers using PayPal, so I have to make it a payment option.
