if I'm a buyer and I opened a dispute... can the seller refund my money with the refund link without me closing the dispute?

from what I understand when I open a dispute the sellers funds freeze..

I am not sure the funds freeze.

I have only had one dispute in 6 years. I was the buyer. I filed it and received a refund with no further action on my part. Got a notice that I had received a full refund and the dispute was closed.

    Hope that helps you.

you do not have to close the dispute, paypal will do it if seller refunded you.

Once I was charged for a subscription that a hosting service never cancelled and I never verified.

I tried to get my money refunded through the seller who ignored my posts, then I went to PayPal and told them through the support system this situation.

They said they will ask the seller for the refund, otherwise I should open a dispute.

3 days after, the seller refunded the money with no further action taken.
