i got following in paypal ' Withdraw Funds by Cheque' page

Note:Cheques sent to non-US banks cannot be cashed. Fees may be applied by the bank where the cheque will be deposited. For questions regarding these fees, contact the bank.

This means we cannot withdraw in indian banks?

No they will send cheques in Indian Rupees and city bank cheque. So there will be no problem; only problem is it may take around 30-45 days depending on your location to reach the cheque.

You definitely can withdraw funds into your Indian bank account... the only difference being you can not directly encash the Paypal check, the way it is possible in US banks!
You have to deposit the check in your bank account, and only on clearing of the same, you can request hard cash for the same... from your own bank! :)

This was the problem when RBI has stopped PayPal services in India.
There is no problem now, except they have asked for PAN number.

Why go for cheques? Money transfer from PayPal to Indian bank account is very fast, that is money in your bank account in 3 days.

The best solution is to add and verify a US bank account. When you withdraw to a US Bank, it takes 2-3 days. And you can draw cash in India with the ATM card from your US BANK. Cool huh.
