Hiya, I found this forum after browsing google a bit. Anyways, I've got a rather odd story. I logged into my email to find that paypal had limited my account. I then logged into my Paypal, and realized that my Account Balance was set to 0.00. - I was missing 597.00 USD. After checking my account's recent transactions, I found that there was one deposit of 150.00 to my bank account, One of 347.00 to someone, and another of 250.00 to someone else. I did not make, nor authorize ANY of these transactions. I called paypal Immediately after finding this information out, and the representative put in a request on both transactions - and said that it may take a couple of days, but I "should" have my money returned. My questions are these: # Open Disputes & Claims (2) * Claims requiring your action (1) -What does a dispute/claim mean, and how do I "take action" to the one that says it requires my participation? The representative on the phone said not to worry about taking action because of the request he put in. -I did not send this money to either of the people, nor to my bank account. Am I the victim of a "hacking?" -Also. I was wondering if it is normal for paypal to transfer a given amount of money to the bank account linked with the Paypal when they limit your account. I think the "taking action" was reporting the problem and disputing the transactions, and if all goes well, someone from PayPal will get a hold of you and hopefully reverse the transactions. Also if I were you I'd do a virus scan, because you might have a keylogger on your computer. Otherwise you probably got phished without realizing it.
What about the depositing of 150.00 into my bank account? Is this normal for an account that was just then limited, or was whomever inside my account feeling nice at the time?
