Paypal Pro

Has any one given Paypal Pro? It has 20$ monthly fee and a little bit higher transaction commission rates, but it seems like it allows you to get credit card information directly and keeps paypal site in backend for processing. So for a customer, it would seem that you are doing CC processing but in reality paypal is doing it in backend. If this would accept CCs of all countries then I might be really into this one! What is your opinion?

I doubt this would make any difference as far as accepting credit cards is concerned. The transaction would still be handled by Paypal, and there is a number of countries covered by their service, with or without their Pro plan, I'd guess.

What would appear on customer's Card statements. If PayPal appears, I'd guess I will use paypal not pro.

I have had a chat with Paypal rep about the same question. They clarified that using Paypal Pro you can accept any credit card belonging to any country as long as it is valid :p.

Also, you can select what you want to appear on the customer statement. So in essense, this Paypal pro will act like a traditional merchant account if customer pays directly through his/her credit card. But the only bad part on this is that it is available only in US. That sucks man... Why not Canada ???

    Can anybody else confirm that?

Paypal will eventually extend that service at their own convenience.

Thank you for that bit of information. I was unaware of the service, so I'll check it out and let you know my thoughts if I find anything different from what is being contributed to this thread.
