Guys, check this out! Login to your PayPal account and download the PayPal Plugin. You will be able to create Virtual Credit Cards. Currently this feature is available for US residents only. Hope they will introduce it for Indian accounts also. Cheers
I have been using it and its great. I feel more secure buying online because I won't be leaving a permanent CC number with a merchant in case they get hacked or are slimy or crooket or something.
It is a great idea, but sad part is that it is only available in US. Hopefully it will be available in India also soon.
Can it be used as a substitute ot credit card..? I am looking for something other than vcc that can used as a substitute to cc
We need a VCC to verify our Paypal account and then using Paypal to be used as VCC. Why not just straight use our VCC in the first place?
They used to have this, then got rid of it when ebay bought them. Good to see it back again, I used it a lot in the past.
There's no signup necessary. It should be under "PayPal Plug-in" on the left side after you sign into your account. These probably can't be resold since you can't set a limit per "card" spending limit.
No, it's still not available in India. You will be able to install the plugin, but wont be able to enable the Secure Cards.
They say that in order to have this feature you need to add a Bank account OR paypal credit. What the hell does that mean? What is paypal credit?? Am I to assume that in order to use paypal to general a VCC I need to sign up for a paypal credit card? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Basically you need a backup source of funding is what theyre saying, you cant do hardly anything with your paypal account without a bank account or cc tied to it anyways...
That is stupid. If I have a paypal balance I shouldn't need a bank account or paypal credit card attached. An account with a balance and a CC should be enough!
