Without blabbing on to much, basically I,m 16 and have been using PayPal since like 12. OK sold an iPhone on eBay and the money to put in a old, fake account which isn't my real address mor has it got any of my bank details. The buyer has returned it and wanted a refund due to something happening, I agreed. But I had already spent the money and now my balance is -£245. It would take me a few weeks to be able to pay this. What happens if I can't and they get peed off? Its a fake account but I do have a proper account which o put the money into from the fake accoun before I spent it. This had happened once a few years ago for £50, it was my dads account and they sent numerous letters an phone calls but in the end did nothing.
They will close the account and close any future accounts you open in the same name or with the same credit card or bank information.
That's fine. I plan to ditch PayPal after countless times of trouble. I'm just wanting to know whether they will get any debt collectors involved? Surely it'd cost them more in fees to do that, and also i'm under 18 therefore debt can't be in my name. I can't refund this guy his money so when he disputes and paypal put my account =£245, there's not really anything they can do as i don't have the money.
IP trace or something along those lines? I just find it extremely hard to believe how easy it is for people to get away with not paying a massive company like Ebay/PayPal
I don't know, it's possible. You committed a felony (identify theft) and screwed someone out of a bunch of money, so it'll depend how determined they are to get it back.
