    Hi people of DigitalPoint.

PayPal has screwed with me now. My account balance is -250€ atm and I don't know what to do. Basically the guy did a dispute and won it, and it wasn't my fault. I've tried to explain to paypal but they say I'm wrong :(

I entered fake info on the account and everything. Will I be safe if I let go of the account and don't care about it? I even cancelled the email adress that was linked to the account. Theres no phone number linked there either.

Please help me, I'm really freaked out and i swear ill never deal with a shitty company like paypal again :S

And btw I'm under 18 and live in Sweden.

EDIT: if I could I would try to pay the money back but since it's not even my fault and I'm under 18. that isn't possible

    Yours Truly
    Lelle.

You are wrong seriously, filling in fake details, I don't think that they will try to look for you to recover that 250€ though.

Keep calm, you have to pay the 250 IMO, and then ask them to close the account - they will have your IP address so they can track you down if they want to!

Filling in fake details is wrong. Ask yourself is it correct to lie?

Nope. I know it's wrong. I entered fake info because I you need to be 18+. What's the worse that can happen? Jail?

Don't get yourself worked up and worried, it is not that serious, I doubt that they will look for you, just that next time, wait till you are 18+ before signing up and do enter the correct details.

Much depend on rules/laws in Sweden.
If law says, that underage ppl can not make such contracts, paypal can not do much. they must check before signup then first.

Yeap what they say are true, Paypal handles millions of transactions, though what you did aren't correct, it isn't a big sum of money nor was it a high profile scam. They won't be bothered about it. Cheer up!

:) Thx for the valuable info. I've been "fantazing" that when I get home there will be american cop cars with the PayPal logo on the sidedoor waiting to arrest me etc. If the account is unverified nothing will happen right?

EDIT: btw the First and sur name of the acc is real. the adress and number is wrong.

Do you not feel bad about ripping someone off though - at the rate of 250?

They will probably red flag your IP address so don't signup again...

    Lelle,

The best thing at this point would be to just take a deep breathe...a very deep one and relax.

Don't cry over something like this. It was not your fault if the person filed a dispute. Heck, I had a friend who was selling PSP's online and has someone dispute it.

It sucked but she now will leave PayPal and move on to something else. Sadly, if your money is gone, it is gone but make this a learning situation.

I do not know own a business..yet...I am int he process of trying to build it up. And heck, I have been selling on Ebay and let me tell you, there are some VERY dishonest people on there and everywhere.

Thankfully, I learned and now when I see warning signs.

As far as being afraid of Jail. It won't happen. I am feeling confident enough to even say I promise you will not. Just don't use PayPal again. Or maybe go back to it when you are 18.

If you need anymore help, just ask. :)
