If this was legit from paypal, they would have sent it to everyone and it would have had your email adddress at the top.
Check the links (just put your mouse over the links)
If the links do not go to paypal address, it is a phishing mail.
Obviously it is as they want you to click and close your account, which paypal would never want you to do.

I have got nothing above until today
pls be sure it is no mail from a phishing site - check the real URL coded into ALL the links of the eMail to see the destination of the links

theoretically such a transfer is possible and would / could make sense - the NON-US market certainly has a much bigger potential than the US market and the "center of the world" is asia if we look at the population numbers ...

for all th ephishing mail regarding paypal
paypal has a special email address to forward any phishing mail
    spoof at paypal dot com
simply forward the mail that originates from non-paypal sources
before that check the IP / URL hidden in the links to make sure its no hacker from your very own site :) !!

all official paypal emails always have your full name displayed at the beginning
while tpyical phising mails only have your email address

I think it's phishing. I haven't read any press release until now. Better clarify this matter to Paypal

Guys, i am aware of the phishing techniques and get those phishing emails daily.. i posted about this one because it is different.

It has everything 100% in mail headers, got my name there, actual registered email and it did not contan any links. So that was why i started wondering.

Googling on "paypal private limited" returns NULL.. which is something weird.. dont you think so?

That is probably a scam email. There is no mention anywhere on Paypal website or on any news site that they are actually moving to Singapore. This is definitely a big news and if it was true, it would have been mentioned everywhere in the news.

Would be nice if PayPal will start accepting accounts from other countries, not only limited to their current list

    Its a scam email IMO
I think they just want you to think that they have moved so that you contact that email to resolve any problems rather than the official pp email.
    Send it to the trash....

If you go to their website, they don't even have a website or portal created for Singapore. For now, take it as spam because I am from Singapore and I did not get any email from them about it. There was no news in the local newspaper about Paypal coming here.

Wait till August 1st and see if there is any official announcement on their website in regards to it.

Wow, I'd really thought it was real. Let us see when August 1 comes around I guess. I was pretty sure cuz almost all scams just say dear paypal user/customer...must be the next level of phishing

It doesn't really look like spam and it doesn't have any links except one sentence directing you to go to the paypal site if you have any questions

Paypal: "If you have any questions prior to August 1, 2006 about these upcoming changes, please contact Customer Support. You can get contact information by logging in to your PayPal account and clicking Contact Us at the bottom of your Account Overview page. "

Don't phishing scams want some sort of information from you? This email tells you know action is required and even advises against it.

At the bottom of my email it says I received it because I opted in to receive any policy change notices, which I remember doing.
