Got this email a few moments ago, so I guess the exact date of that happening is now disclosed. I hope to find a better explaination from their part to why move home to another country. As for your concern regarding Paypal & Estonia, this should give you more hope
I really hope so I wonder why I haven't received this email yet, I have two accounts at PayPal (personal and business), but no email to neither of them. Anyway, I have also contacted PayPal support to see what they say about Estonia.
Just got reply they are back to these stupid "complexities of global finance", I mean, I would appreciate it a lot more if they would just tell me to go **** ****** because I dare to live in a small country, but all this **** **** about complexities of global finance is just frustrating. What makes it more difficult to expand to a country where they are already developing Skype than to Poland, Czech Republic or Hungary? And what is the point of this move if that doesn't change a thing?
Do treat Finance at its true complexity, hanz. It surely isn't an easy deal especially when you expand globally. Try launching a similar business yourself and you might be surprised how soon you'll get stuck. Just give them the time, as much as they need.
They have had years of time, but nothing has changed, so what am I suppose to think? That it is impossible for them to deal in Estonia because our government is harassing them? And what is even more hypocritical is that Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary were added into their "send only" list at the same time with Estonia, but now they can accept payments. Do you really think it is easier to expand to a lot bigger countries than to Estonia?
the fact is : In Luxemburg paid ebay less tax! only 15 % in Germany now 19 % ebay save a lot of money!!!
It is an irony that the paypal users in Luxembourg , Turkey , Malasia and some other countries are having problems accepting funds for the last five days and it is not solved yet. Although paypal accepts its a mistake. What a stability
maybe I have business account, so if they would allow just Estonian business accounts to accept payments, then I would have no problems with it, but that weird restriction with Luxembourg account shows that there is nothing sure with PayPal.
the point is have to be taxes and/or some problems with FSA. That's why a lot of companies register their business on some tiny islands, etc., like BWIN
They redirected me to a page with this info when I logged in today. As for some other countries unfortunately I think the law is the problem, those countries have different laws from EU. And Paypal is not registered as a bank, so in some countries they simply cannot do something.
Ooops, the article says that Paypal is becoming a bank. Well, that is great news for us I guess. There are simply things that banks cannot do to you. For example, a bank cannot block your account and keep your money for a year (or just half) and then give it back (or just not give it back altough you've not stolen it)...
