You wouldn't receive much return on $2, especially at the current interest rate.

It takes a few days and you should get back around $1.95. However this amount will be credited to your paypal account and not to your bank.

Interest rates have nothing to do with this. They return $1.95 to your paypal account regardless whether the $ is less than an Euro or whether $1=500 Euros

Is the money market fund option available only to US Paypal account holders?

You seem to be confused. How can a money market fund not have anything to do with interest rates? The earnings (yield) of a money market fund will depend on the prevailing market rates. At the moment I guess it is around 4%

I think there is some confusion reigning. As far as I can make out, the original poster seems to have sent $2 to paypal to link his credit card. Once paypal has verified the same, they will return back the same after deducting a very small amount of money (normally less than 11 cents) :)

At a 4% yield, your $2 will make 8 cents per year :D
