When I first signed up for PayPal a few years ago there was an option to convert your balance over to a Money Market Fund. This allowed me to earn an interest on my balance. I remember when I first signed up the interest rate was well over 1% maybe 2-3%. It slowly dwindled over time until just recently it was around .02% and now it's officially closed down. What does this mean for the economy? Well, it seems like there's just not as much money as there used to be. I guess it's all over seas or in banks. Hello ******, Thanks for using PayPal and the Money Market Fund. We're writing to remind you that as of July 29, 2011, the PayPal Money Market Fund has closed. What does this mean for you? Don't worry—you don't have to do a thing. You can use the available balance in your PayPal account as you normally would. We've also transferred all of your remaining dividends and distributions into your PayPal account. Your 2011 tax documents will continue to be available on the Fund Summary page in your PayPal account throughout 2012. Remember, you'll receive a tax statement from PayPal only if you've earned $10 or more in dividends in 2011. Thanks again for your support and interest in the PayPal Money Market Fund, and thanks for your understanding. If you have additional questions or concerns, please visit our Help Center. PayPal
